Absolutely! Factory tint is dyed into the glass when manufactured. The aftermarket tint that we install goes right over the top.

Yes. Tint can be removed at any time.

In much the same way as you care for your glass now, with minor exceptions. Two main things that change are your glass cleaner and towels. Choose an ammonia free glass cleaner, or a bottle that clearly says “tint safe.” And rag wise, go for a soft microfiber. Nothing abrasive, or old-school like coffee filters or newspaper. Good luck finding a newspaper now-a-days anyway.

Great question! Choosing your film is the fun part. We stock 3 different types of film- Dyed, Metalized, and Ceramic. All types are available in different darkness levels, ranging from 55% (pretty light) to 15% (pretty dark). When you arrive at Sharper Images for your appointment, we have about 9 different options in stock at all times. We even have the ability to special order you a specific type and darkness if needed.

Let’s start off with: regardless of which state your vehicle is registered in, Sharper Images sells all window tint as ‘do at your own risk’ and ‘for off road use only, ‘ similar disclaimers as you’d see on other aftermarket parts for vehicles. Reason being, each states’ laws are different. And even counties within those states enforce those laws differently at times. Always check with your local inspection station or law enforcement for accurate information on the topic.

PPF pricing varies based on how much coverage you’d like and the extent of surface prep needed. Luckily, Sharper Images doesn’t force you to buy a ‘package! You can pick and choose each area you’d like to protect individually. For instance: Say you’ve got a 2025 Toyota Camry and you want to protect only the hood and behind the door handles. A full hood wrap is on average $425 installed, and door cups protectors are $15 each. Stop by with your vehicle or send us a couple photos and we can get you a to-the-penny quote on the areas you’d like to have protected.

For the most part, no. Modern films like Xpel are extremely clear and designed to blend right into your paint. On lighter colors, it’s virtually impossible to spot unless you know exactly where to look. On darker vehicles, you might catch an edge here or there if you’re really looking-but overall, it’s very discreet. Let’s put it this way: You walk by vehicles at the grocery store every day that are completely wrapped in our Xpel PPF and don’t even notice.

Yes. PPF can be safely removed at any time (without damaging the factory paint underneath-assuming the paint is original and in good condition). When removed properly, it leaves the surface looking just like it did the day it was installed.

Exactly like you care for your vehicle now! Wash it like normal, ideally using quality soap and a soft wash mitt. Avoid anything abrasive or overly high pressure. After a short curing period you can use automatic car washes and wax your vehicle too. The film is built to handle daily use without needing special treatment.

Absolutely. We wish ceramic coatings made vehicles self-cleaning, but we’re not quite there yet. The biggest difference is that dirt, grime, and contaminants don’t stick nearly as easily. Most customers find their vehicles stay cleaner longer and wash up much easier than before.

That depends on the coating selected, how the vehicle is cared for, and how it’s used. For example: Will you continue to use this vehicle through the winter months? Quite possibly. Sharper Images believes in doing things once, and doing them right the first time. Cutting corners is never in our scope of work. While others may be willing to forgo certain details in order to quote the lowest, we here are often not willing to make that compromise.

On average vehicle wraps have a life expectancy for 4 to 5 years. As a rule of thumb we often say we’d like them off before the end of year 5. Things like climate, storage conditions, mileage, and maintenance all play a role in longevity. A garage-kept weekend vehicle will generally get more life out of a wrap than a daily driver that spends every day parked in the elements.

In most cases, no. The exterior of the vehicle will appear to be the new color. However, areas like door jambs, under the hood, inside the trunk, and other factory-painted surfaces generally remain the original color.
